Specialist Nurses

Nurses

Our Practice Nurses deal with a range of nursing services including:

• Assisting in the management of chronic diseases such as asthma, diabetes and coronary heart disease
• Vaccinations and Immunisations
• Dressing of wounds
• Blood pressure checks
• Electro Cardio Graphs (ECGs)
• Blood tests
• Cervical Cytology (Smear tests)
• Dietary advice and weight management
• Smoking cessation
• Travel advice & vaccinations (there may be a fee for this service)

Assistant Practitioners

Assistant practitioners (sometimes known as associate practitioners) have skills and experience in a particular area of clinical practice. Although they are not registered healthcare professionals, they develop a high level of knowledge and skill through their experience and training.

Nursing Associates

Our Nursing Associates work as a vital part of the wider nursing team and this important role helps to bridge care between Healthcare Support Workers and Registered Nurses. The fundamental focus of the role is to deliver care for patients and the public.

Healthcare Assistants

Our Healthcare Assistants undertake a comprehensive training programme and work alongside the Doctors and Practice Nurses. They are able to undertake minor dressings, blood pressure checks, weight checks, ECGs and phlebotomy (blood tests).
